However you can even use your Facebook account as an email account.
All users on Facebook have a Facebook email address.
The email address is of the form <username>@facebook.com, replace <userrname> with your username on Facebook.
How efficient is Facebook email?
Facebook email is fast. However it still cannot handle attachments that well.
It ended up sending the same message 6 times on my Windows Live account. There is no way you can edit the subject.
Verdict
Facebook should not be used for email as it is highly unreliable. Use it only when you want to send someone a message and don't want to share your personal e-mail id.
