Orkut India finally supports applications.This feature was already made available by Facebook for it's users long time ago.
The applications related to Orkut belong to Google's Open Social Platform.
You have to simply register for Google's Sandbox to start developing your own applications.However participation is by invitation only. i.e. you will be notified if your services are needed.
Orkut applications are better than Facebook . For example take a look at Nike's Joga Bonito application that let you search football videos.The applications are really great .So Orkutters in India enjoy.
