The primary source of traffic for any site are search engines. However you need to submit your website or blog to various search engines.

The above search engines are the holy trinity of search, so if you can find your site when you type your site's url then you have done a pretty good job.

NOTE:

It takes Google about a week to enlist your site, while for MSN it might take over a month.
